Whether you live in an apartment, a condo, or a house chances are you’ve looked around at least once and thought “How did I get so much stuff?” It’s a valid question and one we can’t exactly answer for you. However, we do have some advice for you on how to clear that clutter away, based on the habits of clutter-free folks, making your living space more, well, livable!
2. They skip the paper. Many of us have quite a few paper documents. This can be anything from bills to contracts to tax forms. Instead of storing the paper, scan it! Once you’ve scanned all necessary paperwork, back it up to a physical or cloud drive and send paper documents packing. Remember to shred them, first!
3. They slow the accumulation process. Clutter doesn’t happen all at once. It happens slowly over time. A mail order here. A new toy or gadget there. Be aware of what you’re buying. Ask yourself if you really need it. Be prepared to discard another item in order to make room for the new one and to avoid buildup.
5. They live within their means. Instead of wishing for more space in their closet, clutter-free folks par down on their clothes, shoes, and other accessories. Don’t purchase more than what your current space allows. Live in the moment, instead.
6. They store things where they use them. That’s because when someone doesn’t need to walk into another room to put something away, it’s half the battle.
