While hardwiring a corded device like our in-drawer outlets is technically possible, it alters the device, invalidating the device's ETL Listing. As an ETL Listed product, the manufacturer (in this case, Docking Drawer) assumes responsibility for the product’s intended use. Hardwiring one of our ETL Listed outlets takes the responsibility off the manufacturer and transfers all liability to the person who alters the device. For this reason, we do not recommend hardwiring our Blade Series outlets or any other ETL Listed product.

While hardwiring a corded device like our Blade in-drawer outlets is technically possible, we do not recommend hardwiring your Docking Drawer Blade outlet. Blade outlets are safety certified and warranted only in their complete, factory-built configuration.

Hardwiring a Blade outlet changes the product from its certified configuration. As a result, the safety certification no longer applies, and the warranty is void. This includes modifying or removing the cord or plug to accommodate a hardwired installation.

If your installation requires a hardwired connection or another modification, please contact Docking Drawer before making the change. We can help determine the best solution and, when possible, provide an option that maintains the product's designed performance, certification, and warranty coverage.
