How do Prado Unifit Hardwired Outlets differ from those with a self-contained cap?

The updated Unifit Hardwired Outlet now comes with an optional self-contained cap tailored for use with Romex cable, completely doing away with the need for a back box. All installation and removal can be accomplished from the front—no concealed actions, no need for extra tools. With this cap, you can daisy chain multiple outlets together, delivering added versatility and streamlined installation.

This new version offers improved tamper resistance for a smoother and more intuitive plug-in process, all while preserving the product’s robust safety standards. Upgraded wire clamping also provides greater connection security, ensuring cables are held firmly in position for lasting reliability.

If you’d rather skip the self-contained cap, you’ll need both a back box and a cover plate; the installation process will be familiar, but daisy chaining won’t be supported within the back box.
